Appointment to FPCC

Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz announced the appointment of Mike Pickard as a member of the Farm Products Council of Canada (FPCC).

Winnipeg Sitting

The FPCC will hold a second sitting, as part of its inquiry into the merits of establishing a Canadian Pullet Marketing Agency, on May 22, 2013. This session will be held at the Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Centre, Embassy Room, 1808 Wellington Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Public Hearings

The FPCC has received two requests. One is from the Pullet Growers of Canada, a proposal to establish a Canadian Pullet Marketing Agency to be funded by levies applied to Canadian pullets marketed in interprovincial and export trade markets.

The other proposal comes from the British Columbia Raspberry Industry Development Council to establish a Red Raspberry Research, Market Development and Promotion Agency, to be funded by levies applied on fresh and processed red raspberries and red raspberry products marketed domestically, and imported.

Please use this link to participate in FPCC's public hearings. Your comments will help the FPCC evaluate proposals into establishing agencies under Part II and Part III of the FPAA.
